There are many myths about anti-wrinkle treatments that have come from word of mouth as well as various other sources. However, many of these do not take in to account all of the facts and here at Essex Lodge we are aware of the truths behind these myths. Hopefully by finding out what the real truth is behind these rumours and whisperings, you will feel far more at ease about your upcoming treatment.
Truth: This is completely untrue and would be highly impractical. Our clinics take time to make sure just the right amount is injected as to allow expressions and emotions to appear naturally without those excessive lines and wrinkles that you would prefer not to have.
Truth: Unfortunately this is not true, and these injections usually last between 3 and 6 months.
Truth: There is some truth in this statement in the fact that it is a poison. However, so are a number of other substances used within medicine. The main point to bear in mind is that it is most certainly not a harmful poison so will not endanger you. It is perfectly safe and is approved otherwise clinics would not be able to use it as a treatment.
Truth: The needles used are so fine that you will barely be able to tell where they entered the skin. There will only be a slight amount of swelling and bruising if any so there will hardly any sign of the treatment at all.
Truth: No skin cream, however expensive or reputable, will achieve the same results. This is due to the fact that they are yet to prove as powerful as Botox®. The muscles in your face are strong and a simple cream will be unable to fully relax these.
