Skin
We offer a range of solutions to skin related ageing concerns. Popular types of treatment include:
– Skinboosters
– Profhilo
– Biostimulators eg sculptra, radiesse
– Mesotherapy
– Microneedling
– Polunucleotides
For these treatments we advise booking for a consultation so our Doctors can do a more thorough assessment prior to formulating a bespoke skincare plan.
Biostimulators
Biostumulators are a range of injections which are injected into the skin to stimulate a response from the body. The body produces a range of proteins including collagen and elastin to help improve skin firmness, structure and strength gradually over time.
Onset
Biostimulators are generally slow and progressive. Results can be felt or seen usually within a few weeks depending on brand and type of biostimulator. Results build gradually and can peak 3-6 months after your last session.
Longevity
As Biostimulators build using the body’s natural response, results are often longer than other types of skin treatments. Results can usually last 1-2+ years depending on the specific Biostimulators used with maintenance sessions being roughly 9-18 months.
Uses
– Smoothing wrinkles and softening fine lines
– Restoring volume by rebuilding structural support in areas with age-related volume loss, such as the cheeks and temples
– Improving skin laxity/ tightening sagging or loose skin on the face, neck, and hands
Procedure
We start by taking comprehensive pictures and making a treatment plan. The area is cleaned and marks up done to ensure the client is happy to proceed. The injections are done with either needles or micro cannulas depending on the area being treated and the result required. For these treatments local anaesthetic cream is applied to help patient comfort, some biostimulators contain lidocaine (a type of anaesthetic) otherwise which don’t can have lidocaine added, so as treatment continues, the client should become more numb and remain comfortable.
Aftercare
The main point to consider after treatment
– Massaging the treated area as advised unless practitioner has advised otherwise
– No strenuous exercise or sweating for 24h
– Keep the area clean, wait at least a few hours before applying makeup
– Avoid alcohol or blood thinners
– Avoid other facials / procedures
– Cold compress / ice if needed to reduce swelling
Risks
– Common risk – pain, bleeding, bruising, swelling, redness, lumps / bumps
– Uncommon risks – infections, allergies, migrations, nodules, fibrous
